WEDDINGS.
KERR— LEATHEM.
St. John's
Church of England, Molong, was packed to the doors on Saturday afternoon, many
people remaining outside, on the occasion of the marriage of Kathleen, eldest
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. Leathem,
and James R. Kerr, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Kerr, of Carcoar. The Rev.
J. A. Poole performed the ceremony.
The bride, who entered the church on the
arm of her father, looked exceptionally well in a dress of white crepe de
chine, trimmed with silver lace, and wore a wreath and veil (lent by Mrs.
Sorenson). She carried a beautiful bouquet of white hyacinths (the gift of Mrs.
C. Coyne).
Miss Jean Leathem accompanied
her sister as bridesmaid and was dressed in pink crepe de chine with black hat.
Her bouquet of pink, was also the gift of Mrs. Coyne. Mr. Bert Leathem (Coonamble), cousin of
the bride, acted as best man.
Mrs. Poole, who presided at the organ, played
'The Voice that Breath'd O'er Eden,' and during the signing of the register
sang ' Oh, Per-feet Love.' At the close of the ceremony a reception was held at
the residence of the bride's parents, when the usual toasts were honoured, Rev.
J. A. Poole proposing 'The Bride and Bridegroom.
The honeymoon was spent at Albury,
the bride's travelling dress being of wine-coloured crepe de chine, with hat to
match.
A large number of valuable presents were received. The bride's gift to
the bridegroom was a travelling rug. The bridegroom's gift to the bride was a
gold wristlet watch. The bridesmaid received a gift of a gold signet ring
from the bridegroom.
Mr. and Mrs. Kerr's future home will be
Cookamidgera.
